Globe Gals Day Out
With market approaching and summer winding down, we Globe Gals decided to spend our last Summer Friday together for an afternoon of fun in the sun and some cocktails. Starting at the Frying Pan, we soon made our way to Ashley's home away from home, The Standard. Not only was the view from the rooftop incredible, but boy do they know how to make a mojito.
Globe fun fact: Erin Kleinbergs Fall 2010 look book featuring Annabelle Dexter Jones, was shot on location at The Standard.

California Girls!
We want to take this opportunity to introduce everyone to our West Coast counterparts! Our girls Karen and Tracey run the LA office, and we sat down with them to dish about the West coast style trends.
Q: How does West Coast style differ from East Coast?
A: West Coast style is more casual and laid back in general. Jeans and t-shirts are staples of a California wardrobe and unlike East Coast style, West Coasters tend to need more of an occasion to dress up.
Q: Do you think trends start on the West or East Coast?
A: The boyfriend jean, knit and jersey trends, for example, started in the West but both coasts alternate in terms of starting trends.
Q: Who would you say are big trendsetters these days on the West Coast?
A: Women like Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston always have a consistent and quintessential LA "look", with casual boyfriend jeans and a nice ballet flat. Someone like Rachel Bilson also seems to blend West and East Coast trends effortlessly.

Jonathan Simkhai featured in WWD
On April 27th, Globe newbie Jonathan Simkhai was featured in Women's Wear Dailys new designer spotlight, showcasing upcoming talent from around the world. Not only was the photo styled impeccably (thanks Mayte!) but the write up, which perfectly describes Jonathan's borrowed from the boys style, was just as good.

Jonathan Simkhai now showing at The Globe!
For his debut Fall 2010 collection, designer Jonathan Simkhai has created a look that captures the girl who is inspired by her boyfriends’ closet. Offering effortlessly cool wardrobe essentials, the brand redefines the traditional idea of sexy, with silk lame boxers, cropped oxfords and cashmere long johns, all which transpire from day to night to the morning after.
Comprised of over sized silhouettes and unrestricted shapes, Jonathan Simkhai reinvents functioning classics resulting in powerful, feminine pieces. Subtle sex appeal is evident in the collections peeks of flesh in unexpected hemlines and convertible oxfords that can be worn interchangeably as a dress or top. Continuous atypical parings of androgynous collection staples, accentuate a highly stylized look that remains practical and easy.

Mousse!
Meet Mousse, possibly the cutest dog I know. As our showroom mascot, Mousse makes weekly visits into the office to hang out with proud parents, Jeffrey and Bruno. Not only does this prince enjoy squeaky toys and long walks, but he is also the best office companion you could ask for. I mean, how could you not love those eyes staring back at you??
You would never know by looking at him now but Mousse was mistreated and abandoned by his previous owner, as are a countless number of pets each year. Jeffrey and Bruno came to Mousse's rescue and adopted him through the NY Animal Control Adoption Agency. Click below for more information on this amazing organization and how you can help save an animals life.
Lounging has never looked so good.
Downtown girl and youngest Ronson sister, Annabelle Dexter Jones, is the new face of Erin Kleinberg's Fall 2010 look book. Preceded by Theodora Richards and Vanessa Traina, Annabelle takes the effortlessly sexy concept to a whole new level. Perfectly translating the carefree lifestyle behind the collection, Annabella over looks the NYC High Line in velvet trimmed cardigans, cropped tees and lace muscle tees.

NoNoo Lyons Fall Presentation
Snow, sleet and more snow couldn't have stopped us from going to the Nonoo Lyons Fall 2010 Presentation this past Wednesday. While most people were enjoying their snow days, The Globe Gals headed over to The Breslin, where a dark ambiance was set to showcase this amazing collection. Inspired by their London upbringings as well as a lifetime of cultural and sensorial influences, Nonoo Lyons evokes feelings of romance, sophistication and exoticism. Once just jackets and blazers, designers Deborah Lyons and Misha Nonoo have expanded their collection to include dresses, skirts and underpinnings.
