Globe Gals Day Out

With market approaching and summer winding down, we Globe Gals decided to spend our last Summer Friday together for an afternoon of fun in the sun and some cocktails. Starting at the Frying Pan, we soon made our way to Ashley's home away from home, The Standard. Not only was the view from the rooftop incredible, but boy do they know how to make a mojito.
Globe fun fact: Erin Kleinbergs Fall 2010 look book featuring Annabelle Dexter Jones, was shot on location at The Standard.

California Girls!

We want to take this opportunity to introduce everyone to our West Coast counterparts! Our girls Karen and Tracey run the LA office, and we sat down with them to dish about the West coast style trends.

Q: How does West Coast style differ from East Coast?
A: West Coast style is more casual and laid back in general. Jeans and t-shirts are staples of a California wardrobe and unlike East Coast style, West Coasters tend to need more of an occasion to dress up.

Q: Do you think trends start on the West or East Coast?
A: The boyfriend jean, knit and jersey trends, for example, started in the West but both coasts alternate in terms of starting trends.

Q: Who would you say are big trendsetters these days on the West Coast?
A: Women like Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston always have a consistent and quintessential LA "look", with casual boyfriend jeans and a nice ballet flat. Someone like Rachel Bilson also seems to blend West and East Coast trends effortlessly.

Based around an eclectic mix of modern and vintage, Wax has successfully created 6 unique styles for Fall 2010, so look out for her collection coming soon!
